EXCLUSIVE: I am proud of the quality of my cakes and in order to maintain the reputation of Dee’s Specialty Cakes; it is necessary that any and all cakes served at your wedding be prepared by Dee’s. This will ensure that all of your cakes are of the same quality, taste and design. To economize, kitchen cakes can be purchased through Dee’s.
RESERVING THE DATE: In order to reserve a calendar date for your wedding; a $100.00 (One hundred dollar) non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required along with the signed contract.
DECORATION AND DESIGN: When we meet to discuss your wedding cake, please bring color swatches, ideas and pictures. It is likely that special designs and most wishes can be incorporated into your wedding cake. You are free to make changes to your order (serving size, flavor, colors, etc.) up to two weeks prior to your wedding date. Changes cannot be accepted after ____________________________.
FLOWERS AND GREENERY: If you choose to use fresh flowers and/or greenery on or around your cake, Dee’s will be glad to place and arrange them. There will be an additional fee for this service depending on quantity, complexity and time involved. All flowers and greenery are your responsibility and should be chosen carefully with your florist as not all flowers and foliage are safe to place on an edible cake. Dee’s will not be responsible for anything non-edible added to your cake. It will be your responsibility to make sure the flowers are delivered to the reception location prior to the cake being delivered and set up; and Dee’s will not place flowers if prior arrangements have not been made.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Dee’s requires a security deposit to cover the costs of plates, platters, pillars, rentals and all non-edible items in case of damage or items not being returned. Deposit amount will be determined once the design of the cake and items needed has been decided. All items are to be returned to Dee’s by 5:00 p.m. the Wednesday directly following your wedding. A list of items to be returned will be left on the cake table for your convenience. If it is not possible for you or a delegate to return the items, Dee’s will make arrangements to retrieve the items for a fee. The security deposit will be returned in full if all items and equipment are returned clean, in good condition and by the deadline. If items or equipment need to be replaced due to damage or non-return; your security deposit will be retained and you will be billed for the difference of any replacement.
CANCELLATION: If for any reason, this cake order needs to be cancelled, please notify Dee’s as soon as possible. The initial $100.00 reservation deposit is non-refundable. Any additional monies that have been paid at the time of cancellation will be reviewed on a case by case basis determined by circumstance and length of notification. If this order is cancelled within two weeks prior to the wedding date – no payments or deposits will be returned.
FAILURE TO DELIVER: In the case of an unforeseen emergency (auto accident; hospitalization; death in the family, etc.), Dee’s will do its best to provide a “dummy” decorated cake for pictures and sheet cakes provided to serve your guests. In the unlikely event that this would happen, a full refund would be issued.
DAMAGES: Once the cake has been delivered and set up, Dee’s is no longer liable for any damages; and the care and condition of the cake becomes your responsibility.
PHOTO RELEASE: By signing this contract, you give Dee’s permission to use pictures of your cake for advertising and promotional purposes. These pictures may be provided by you or I may purchase one from your photographer and the photo(s) chosen may include yourself in the picture.
PAYMENT: You may make up to four payments for your cake. Payment is due in full two weeks prior to your wedding. Any payments made within two weeks of the wedding must be paid by cash, credit card, money order or cashier’s check. No personal checks will be accepted. If payment in full has not been received four days prior to the wedding, Dee’s reserves the right to cancel your order.
DELIVERY: You will be responsible to make sure your reception location is open and accessible at the agreed upon delivery time to allow for covering and decorating your cake table. You will need to make sure all flowers, cake knife, forks, plates, napkins, cake topper, etc. are available to complete the table set up. If you are using a fountain, make sure that the cake is no further than 6’ from an outlet and that it’s positioned so there are no cords exposed that could cause a tripping or safety hazard.
I, _____________________________________ have read the above contract and understand the terms and conditions of this agreement. In the event my reception is outside or in an unclimate controlled location, I have received and understand the “Policy and Precautions for Outdoor Receptions".
By signing this agreement, I have approved and accept the attached Cake Order and understand that this is a legal binding contract.
